N Y Times article about Mel Brooks movie
Dennis Prager(Jewish) who has a radio show said he was invited to see a screening of the movie. He said he doesn't expect to see antisemitism in the US but he does think the movie will be used abroad including by Arab countries to foment anitsemitism. He said the movie does not inspire one to be a Christian because watching 2 hours of someone being tortured is not an inspiration. He said he wishes the movie had not been made. He will be writing an article on it. He gave all this feedback to Mel Gibson. He said that Christians with whom he saw the screening told him that the movie made them angry enough to pick up a gun and shoot Jews. Mel Gibson is planning to release the movie at Easter. He said he does NOT think Mel Gibson was inspired by antisemitism, and was ignorant of the thousands of years of suffering of Jews at the hands of Christians because of the deicide charge. This is what I heard from his radio show.I'm sure other people would state things differently as to what they heard because people hear, perceive and remember things differently.Dennis Prager's article will most likely be posted at his web site dennisprager.com as well as other places.
Editor-> Thanks for your insightful comments concerning Mel Brooks new film. There has been a great deal of controversy surrounding this project and it certainly will be interesting to see how it all plays out once the film is released. I am personally refraining from making any statements until after the film is completed and I have had the chance to see it for myself.
