In response to Weekly Megillah article - Israel gives the new Palestinian prime minister 1-2 months to halt terrorism. IsraelInsider reports: I agree that a campaign of Palestinian terrorism and negotiations cannot be tolerated as a "carrot and stick" means of achieving Palestinian atonomy, from the Israeli standpoint. But I am disturbed that Israel would give a two-week deadline to end terrorism to Prime Minister Abu Mazen. It seems both arbitrary and insulting to begin a relationship by giving an ultimatum to the person--especially when he was the result of demands that we negotiate with someone other than Arafat. An ultimatum is not negotiation. Not that you're looking for responses....You just print the news, you don't write it!
