I don't remember nearly so much criticism directed at Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Jimmie Baker, et al, for their attempts to ride right (rite?) into public office. Why so much criticism of Senator Lieberman for his references to his own personal views. At least, according to theologian Michael Novak, Senator Lieberman respects the Constitution.
