A Suggestion for Thanksgiving
e-mail me

It has been many years since my father died. Then, and during the time since, I have been grateful for a gift from our relationship. I had told him thank you, and that I loved him.

On Thanksgiving, we will have a national celebration of gratitude. There is so much for which we should be grateful, most precious of all our families and friends. I would like to propose that each of us write a thank you note this week. Think of a person and let them know that you appreciate their presence in your life.

Perhaps, it will be a grocery checker whose cheerful smile makes your chores a bit easier. Maybe there is a neighbor or coworker who has held open a door, when your hands were full. Life is full of tiny blessings and acts which remind us of G-d's presence.

I would like to thank all of you for being a part of my world. May all the days of your lives be graced with happy meals, and the remembrance of kindness shared.
