Greetings
I just read your problem re not receiving any mail from us. I speak for myself now, I am so very anxious to communicate with all of you, but unfortunately I have been having medical problems within my family which ultimately has taken my time. Please don’t take this personally as I have just explained. My comments regarding all the info I have received since joining has been that of great interest, educational, fun and just plain refreshing! I read your address in order to join in the Canadian Jewish news and I immediately joined up and I have every intention of continuing. I have been able to read your monthly articles and in fact one of the owners of the Montréal kosher bakery asked me if I could find the Jewish word for "disappointed" - I quickly told her I would find it in your Yiddish translations, and pronto, I did and it brought a big smile to her face and as well as to several customers who heard the explanation and they asked where I found the answer! No doubt I related the address to them and the rest is history! I think you guys are doing a fantastic mitzvah, at least for me, by allowing me to read stuff in yiddishkeit which takes me back to when I was a kid and hearing my bubbie and mother speaking Yiddish which I have been able over the years to speak, read and write. You have brought laughter and happy tears into my life and for that I thank you all. Once again, don’t fret, I am here reading often but since I have four adult daughters and two of whom are suffering from cancer my time is obviously not my own. I am a bubbie of two delicious children and my mother is 95 this coming October! I also run a small business on my own for the past 27 years, so when I am free to be on my computer, you are the first I log on to. If anyone out there can do some praying for my children, feel free, prayers are always welcome to us. Must go for now, as I will be sleeping over at my youngest daughter's place tonight so she will not be alone, she is not married.
Editor-> Dear Bunny, What a lovely letter. Thank you so much for taking the time to write. I am so happy to know you enjoy reading the Megillah and that you find the glossary useful and fun. Please convey my sincerest wishes to your daughters for a speedy and complete recovery from their illnesses. My prayers are with them and you. Warmest wishes, Michael
