My own feeling is why would anyone in his or her right mind go to Israel today? Every day there is another bombing in Jerusalem with people killed and wounded. I just read of an American lawyer who had escaped death in the World Trade Center, where he worked--he went to Israel with his family to visit a daughter who was going to school there. He and the three members of his family were all hurt in the latest Jerusalem bombing and all four ended up in the hospital. The writer's thinking isn't very clear. She comments that some of the Israeli troublemakers originally came from the US. That may very well be- but what's that got to do with the fact that Israel is a dangerous place today. And she blames our State Dept. for advising people not to visit there. They'd be derelict in their duties towards American citizens if they didn't do so. It is a sad situation but as long as terrorism continues there, it will be a deterrent to tourists.
