Esther
On reading about Esther some thoughts occur to me. 1. I find it very believable that a woman in a harem would not be up on the news. I imagine the women spending their days taking baths and gossiping about the inner politics of the harem, not the wider world. 2. It sounds as if Mordechai was threatening to reveal Esther's secret. He was the only one who knew, other than herself. He said her secret was not safe and she would perish along with her father's house. Sounds like a threat to me. That's the problem with secrets. The people who know them have power over one.
Editor-> Your thoughts on the "Esther" pieces are most interesting. After thinking about what you had to say, and re-reading the articles, I find myself agreeing with your assessment.
